From abroad 2025-26: Talks and lectures in English about Art and Design<\/em><\/p>\n

Luca Marovino, sculptor and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Frosinone, visited our institution from 16 to 20 March 2026 to teach an intensive course in stone carving using a traditional pointing machine.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the course was to provide students with advanced technical skills in the field of stone carving and sculpture reproduction. It also aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical artistic knowledge and practical manual experience.<\/p>\n

The intensive course was structured as a practical workshop focused on:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. 1. Mechanical Reproduction: Practical demonstration of the \"pointing\" technique using a mechanical pantograph to translate a plaster model into marble.<\/li>\n
  2. 2. Model Selection: Students worked on reproducing their own original clay\/plaster creations.<\/li>\n
  3. 3. Proportional Scaling: Students learned about the practices of enlarging models through the use of calipers and applied geometry (Thales\u2019 triangle).<\/li>\n
  4. 4. Artistic Jewelry: Students learned about the design and realization of small-scale wearable art, including specialized techniques for stone finishing and high-gloss polishing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The exceptional success of the course and the contagious vitality of the indestructible Luca Marovino, to whom we are deeply grateful, encourage us to strengthen our ties with the Academy of Fine Arts of Frosinone.<\/p>\n

    A brief biography<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Born in Carrara on 14\/09\/1969, he attended the 'Accademia Albertina in Turin two years and is graduated at Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara. He is specialized in techniques of marble and practiced in sculpture art studios that realise copies of classical and contemporary works, host and collaborate with internationally renowned artists.<\/p>\n

    He participated in numerous sculpture competitions, realizing monumental works,which are located in the urban areas of many european cities and beside. We mention some: \"Mystery\", a 'work in persian travertine located in Theatre Square Tehran in Iran; \"Tree Mechanic\", a work in granite installed in a public park of Icheon in South Korea; \"Boite des Saisons', a marble sculpture installed on a roundabout in the city of Grasse in France; \"Poignant Fragrances\", marble work of Carrara located in the Aragonese Castle in Reggio Calabria in Italy.<\/p>\n

    We remaind the first personal exhibition \" The HUMOURS \" staged in Krakow, Poland in 1996 and among the collective exibitions \" Environment \" of Maca of Frosinone, Italy in 2016.<\/p>\n

    He collaborated in the restoration of poly-chrome marbles at the Moscow Kremlin and received awards in Italy, France, Spain, Poland, Israel, Luxembourg, South Korea, Brazil, Iran, Turkey, Lebanon. He conducted workshops of European projects in Italy and has created a sculpture workshop in Tehran , Iran and lately in Barcelona, Murcia, Madrid and Jaen ,Spain.<\/p>\n

    He has taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Reggio Calabria, Turin and is currently Professor at the 'Academy of Fine Arts in Frosinone , Italy.<\/p>\n

    Luca Marovino, escultor i professor de l'Acad\u00e8mia de Belles Arts de Frosinone, va visitar la nostra <\/em>instituci\u00f3 del 16 al 20 de mar\u00e7 de 2026 per impartir un curs intensiu de talla de pedra utilitzant una <\/em>t\u00e8cnica de punts tradicional.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

    L'objectiu principal del curs era proporcionar als estudiants habilitats t\u00e8cniques avan\u00e7ades en el <\/em>camp de la talla de pedra i la reproducci\u00f3 d'escultures. Tamb\u00e9 pretenia reduir la bretxa entre els <\/em>coneixements art\u00edstics te\u00f2rics i l'experi\u00e8ncia manual pr\u00e0ctica.<\/em><\/p>\n

    El curs intensiu es va estructurar com un taller pr\u00e0ctic centrat en:<\/em><\/p>\n

    1. 1. Reproducci\u00f3 mec\u00e0nica: Demostraci\u00f3 pr\u00e0ctica de la t\u00e8cnica de talla utilitzant un pant\u00f2graf mec\u00e0nic <\/em>per reproduir un model de guix a marbre.<\/em><\/li>\n
    2. 2. Selecci\u00f3 de models: Els estudiants van treballar en la reproducci\u00f3 de les seves pr\u00f2pies creacions <\/em>originals d'argila\/escaiola<\/em><\/li>\n
    3. 3. Escalat proporcional: Els estudiants van aprendre sobre les pr\u00e0ctiques d'ampliaci\u00f3 de models <\/em>mitjan\u00e7ant l'\u00fas de calibres i geometria aplicada (triangle de Tales).<\/em><\/li>\n
    4. 4. Joieria art\u00edstica: Els estudiants van aprendre sobre el disseny i la realitzaci\u00f3 de peces art\u00edstiques <\/em>a petita escala, incloent-hi t\u00e8cniques especialitzades per a l'acabat de la pedra i el polit.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      L'\u00e8xit excepcional del curs i la vitalitat contagiosa de l'incombustible Luca Marovino, a qui estem <\/em>profundament agra\u00efts, ens animen a enfortir els nostres vincles amb l'Acad\u00e8mia de Belles Arts de <\/em>Frosinone.<\/em><\/p>\n

      Una breu biografia<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

      Nascut a Carrara el 14\/09\/1969, va assistir a l'Accademia Albertina de Tor\u00ed durant dos anys i es va <\/em>graduar a l'Acad\u00e8mia de Belles Arts de Carrara. Est\u00e0 especialitzat en t\u00e8cniques de marbre i ha <\/em>exercit en estudis d'art escult\u00f2ric que realitzen c\u00f2pies d'obres cl\u00e0ssiques i contempor\u00e0nies, acullen i <\/em>col\u00b7laboren amb artistes de renom internacional. Va participar en nombrosos concursos d'escultura,<\/em>
      \nrealitzant obres monumentals, que es troben a les zones urbanes de moltes ciutats europees i <\/em>voltants. En esmentem algunes: \"Misteri\", una obra de travert\u00ed persa situada a la Pla\u00e7a del Teatre de <\/em>Teheran, a l'Iran; \"Mec\u00e0nic d'arbres\", una obra de granit instal\u00b7lada en un parc p\u00fablic d'Icheon, a <\/em>Corea del Sud; \"Boite des Saisons\", una escultura de marbre instal\u00b7lada en una rotonda de la ciutat <\/em>de Grasse, a Fran\u00e7a; \"Poignant Fragrances\", obra de marbre de Carrara situada al Castell Aragon\u00e8s <\/em>de Reggio Calabria, It\u00e0lia.<\/em><\/p>\n

      Destaquem la primera exposici\u00f3 personal \"Els HUMORS\", organitzada a Crac\u00f2via, Pol\u00f2nia, el 1996, i <\/em>entre les exposicions col\u00b7lectives \"Medi Ambient\" de Maca de Frosinone, It\u00e0lia, el 2016.<\/em><\/p>\n

      Va col\u00b7laborar en la restauraci\u00f3 de marbres policromats al Kremlin de Moscou i va rebre premis a <\/em>It\u00e0lia, Fran\u00e7a, Espanya, Pol\u00f2nia, Israel, Luxemburg, Corea del Sud, Brasil, Iran, Turquia i L\u00edban. <\/em>Va dirigir tallers de projectes europeus a It\u00e0lia i ha creat un taller d'escultura a Teheran, Iran, i <\/em>recentment a Barcelona, M\u00farcia, Madrid i Jaen, Espanya.<\/em><\/p>\n

      Ha impartit classes a l'Acad\u00e8mia de Belles Arts de Mil\u00e0, Reggio Calabria i Tor\u00ed, i actualment \u00e9s <\/em>professor a l'Acad\u00e8mia de Belles Arts de Frosinone, It\u00e0lia.<\/em><\/p>\n
