From Abroad 25/26: talks and lectures in English about Art and Design

El passat dilluns 20 d'Octubre de 2025 l'alumna d'Il·lustració Helena Almeida va fer una presentació de la seva experiència ERAMUS a la University of Krakow (UKEN) a Polònia, adreçada a l'alumnat i professorat d'Il·lustració de la nostra escola.
A continuació ens fa un breu resum de la seva presentació:
“L’experiència Erasmus a Cracòvia ha estat una de les millors etapes de la meva vida. He conegut gent increïble, he après molt i he crescut tant personalment com acadèmicament.
A la UKEN vaig cursar 8 classes: Pintura, Dibuix, Gravat en metall, Linocut, Il·lustració, Disseny Gràfic, Animació i Tipologia.
Vaig aprofitar per experimentar tècniques per millorar en els àmbits que ja coneixia i a la vegada vaig provar amb assignatures noves que no tenia l'oportunitat de cursar a la Gargallo durant el Cicle de Il·lustració.
Poder cursar aquestes matèries amb professionals de l’àmbit com a professors va ser una experiència molt enriquidora.
Em vaig enamorar tant de la ciutat com de la gent que vaig conèixer allà. Recomano molt allotjar-se a la residència de la universitat, que encara que no és un hotel de luxe, coneixes i convius amb gent increïble. No només amb el teu company d’habitació, sinó amb tota la planta de gent d’Erasmus. Gairebé tothom s’allotja allà i és genial.
Una aventura que recomano a tothom!”
Last Monday, October 20, 2025, Illustration student Helena Almeida gave a presentation on her ERASMUS experience at the University of Krakow (UKEN) in Poland, addressed to the Illustration students and teachers of our school.
Here is a brief summary of her presentation:
“The Erasmus experience in Krakow has been one of the best stages of my life. I have met incredible people, I have learned a lot and I have grown both personally and academically.
At UKEN I took 8 classes: Painting, Drawing, Metal Engraving, Linocut, Illustration, Graphic Design, Animation and Typography.
I took the opportunity to experiment with techniques to improve in the areas I already knew and at the same time I tried new subjects that I did not have the opportunity to take at Pau Gargallo during the Illustration Cycle.
Being able to take these subjects with professionals in the field as teachers was a very enriching experience.
I fell in love with both the city and the people I met there. I highly recommend staying in the university residence, which although it is not a luxury hotel, you meet and live with incredible people. Not only with your roommate, but with the entire floor of people Erasmus. Almost everyone stays there and it's great.
An adventure that I recommend to everyone!
